Support for Nova Scotians displaced by wildfires
In 2023, Nova Scotia faced unprecedented hardship as major wildfires swept across our province. In HRM, more than 17,000 people were evacuated, with thousands more placed on just 30 minutes’ notice to do the same. Hundreds of homes were lost. In Shelburne County, over half the residents were forced to evacuate, and significant property damage was sustained.
Throughout these crises, hundreds of NSADA member employees stepped forward as volunteer first responders—serving in volunteer fire departments, search and rescue organizations, and local relief agencies. They were on the front lines, supporting their communities and their fellow Nova Scotians in extraordinary ways.
Several of our member dealerships also supported the emergency response efforts by donating vehicles for the transportation of firefighting equipment and personnel.
NSADA extends its sincere thanks to all those who demonstrated courage, compassion, and community spirit during one of the most challenging times in our province’s recent history.
